The Artist’s Way movement began more than two decades ago as author Julia Cameron shared her ideas with a few friends in her living room. Today, The Artist’s Way has helped millions of people around the world discover--and recover-- their creativity.

Whether you are brand new to The Artist’s Way or have a bookshelf filled with years of Morning Pages journals, whether you are working on a large artistic project or simply wishing to experience more creativity in your life, welcome to Julia Cameron's course. The Artist’s Way.

Facilitated by Heather Bradbury

Have you ever longed to be able to draw or paint, write or compose music? With The Artist's Way you can discover how to unlock your latent creativity and make your dreams a reality. With the basic principle that creative expression is the natural direction of life, Julia Cameron's book leads you through a comprehensive program to recover your creativity from a variety of blocks.

The Artist's Way provides a course that guides you through the process of recovering your creative self. It dispels the 'I'm not talented enough' conditioning that holds many people back and helps you unleash your own inner artist. Its step-by-step approach will enable you to: start out on your own path to creativity, dissolve the barriers that prevent your creative impulse from finding expression, use your rediscovered talents in whatever way you wish, and learn that it is never too late to start fulfilling your dreams.

The Artist's Way helps demystify the creative process by making it part of your daily life. It tackles your self-doubts, self-criticism and worries about time, money and the support to pursue your creative dreams. It has already helped thousands of people to uncover their hidden talents - it can help you, too.

The course involves using Julia Cameron's book The Artist’s Way. If you do not have a copy you can buy one from Heather for $35 or buy one online (see link below) before we start.

Reflection from an online participant

The Artist’s Way by Julie Cameron encouraged me to:

  • Pursue creativity

  • Find my own inspiration and therefore my own voice

  • Discover why I am inspired by those things

  • Believe that the things that inspire me are worthwhile pursuing

  • Keep going

  • Have fun

  • Play

  • Find joy in playfulness

  • To notice synchronicity in life and to be delighted by it

Things that I have appreciated about doing The Artist’s Way as a course with a small group led by Heather:

  • Feeling encouraged by Heather to be present for each other in a safe learning space

  • Being encouraged by Heather to take a risk or two and have a laugh as we learn

  • Knowing that you are not alone as you reflect on the process or journey of creativity.

  • Having my thinking expanded by others’ reflections and experiences.

  • Having other people’s creative way of seeing life speak into and enrich my own experiences

  • Feeling bonded with others through the process of exploring what it is to be creative

Hope you can join me!

The best journey you will have had for a while!

Heather :)
